...bye MJ

just watched Michael Jackson's memorial.. from the moment Mariah Carey sang I'll be there till they removed the casket to the tune of Man in the Mirror, I was bawling my eyes out.. *sighs*

its just so sad. so many people are dying in my lifetime.. when i first heard the news, of course i was shocked like the rest of the world but i guess it didn't really sink in until i watched the memorial.. omygawd MJ is dead. waaaah. why why whyyyy. he's supposed to have the greatest comeback and have a world tour named "This is it!" this month!

Everybody's performances and speeches in the memorial were so heartfelt, i'm still thinking (and writing!) about it hours later. Who didn't laugh at Magic Johnson's funny KFC anecdote? Whose heart didn't break when his daughter spoke? I even loved the unknown singers like the 12 year old-boy and the charismatic japanese-black girl who sang Heal the world..(i googled them, her name's Judith Hill, she was supposed to be one of the backup singers in MJ's tour..while the boy was a contestant at Britain's Got Talent who caught Mj's attention and was going to be part of the tour as well)

i guess MJ was introduced to me by my sister, Ate Chary. she is a huuuuge MJ fan.. i remember she even watched his concert, the Dangerous tour .. wish i went with her, but i guess i was too young then, maybe i was 11 or 12 years old. she has the double cassette (lol) of Dangerous and i remember opening the jacket sleeve, reading and singing the lyrics secretly because she'll have a fit if she sees me holding it, i have a habit of destroying her prized possessions you see (like most youngest siblings do). i love MJs songs, the fast ones because he's the only person on earth who can sing them (Bad, Don't Stop til you get enough, Thriller, Beat It).. the feel-good songs (the way you make me feel, rock with you) but I most especially love the slow ones.. (She's out of my Life, gone too soon, i just can't stop loving you) they're all so gut-wrenching, your heart feels like it's going to explode from the pain pain pain LOL. And just like what Pangs said as we watched the memorial, MJ is black, but his music isn't. it crosses all races. And everything about him is iconic. From his sequined glove, to his "Hee-Hee!". No one can pull that off without looking like a MJ second rate trying hard copycat (*tapon tubig*).. and now all i want to do is a Michael Jackson Karaoke night with my friends! (i make no promises that i won't cry when i sing Man in the Mirror though, lol) I will make it my mission for tsugtsug to know Michael Jackson's music. As a matter of fact, he just slept through 'Beat It', so its just a matter of time before i get him dancing to 'Black or White'.

*sighs again* i hope nobody dies again too soon. Michael Jordan's healthy right? lol. and *knock on wood* Tito, Vic and Joey! LOL. actually, tito can go but not Vic and Joey hahaha. just joking!

that's it.. and I hope Cory Aquino gets well soon. Here's one last 'Woooooooooo!' for Michael.

...progress report (on myself)

i've read in one of my facebook friend's status updates that she wants to blog more about herself, and not so much on her baby. i guess i'm guilty of that too, my blog's more about tsug now, but when your life basically revolves around one little boy, it can't be help, right?

so... how have i been doing? i'm gonna say, i'm 90% good.. and that's a pretty awesome number. the first time tsug and i got here (he was 6 months old then), i was at "50-50".. pangs wouldn't know what mood i was gonna be in... heck, even I didn't know if i was gonna greet him with a smile or a scorn.. poor pangs! i was so tired from taking care of tsug, and he was so tired from doing ALL the household chores, we were both physically/emotionally wrecked.. now, i'm super proud to say, i've tapped on my inner domestic goddess and have been contributing more on the chores. i still get frustrated though, hence the remaining 10%. sometimes i still get ideas like going back to work just so i could take a rest! but at this point in tsug's life, i just can't begin to imagine leaving him to someone not blood related. let's face it, even I want to throttle my baby sometimes! LOL! he is one makulit, malikot, spoiled brat who ALWAYS gets his way and cries his head off when he doesn't. How could i let a stranger deal with him? Even if she's not a total stranger, it'll still be a job to her and nothing more. And I don't want to leave him to my mom..even if my mom is constantly complaining about missing him and such, let's face it.. they want to play with tsug, spoil him to death, and give him back to his parents the minute he starts fussing! That's what grandparents are for, and frankly, i want them to enjoy that role.

Maybe when tsug's a bit older, I might be able to let go.. anyway, i'll cross the bridge when i get there. Another plus is Pangs can now actually put tsug to sleep! that's such an amazing feat and i'm so proud of him. Maybe now I can leave tsug to him while I go out and watch a movie or something? Haha, joke lang pangs. (but come New Moon time, you know i'm serious right?)

Anyway, we have been seriously considering settling down in SG for good.. not for good, good as in retire here (no friggin way, they work here till 75!) but maybe tsug can study here. There are just too many 'Pros' in the list. Where else is punching a crime? lol. There's no typhoons, no fault lines, no friggin brownouts. An extremely low crime rate and tax is quite low compared to other countries. Ohmygosh, i'm starting to love singapore. hahaha who would've thought!? All the safety against crimes aside, I love it that tsug and I can stroll around the block without worrying about pesky dogs! or that I can walk to the market, and walk to the mall, and walk to the park! I think i've lost some of my street smarts though, I remember when I was back in Pinas of being completely unaware of my stuff and Pangs had to constantly remind me to close my friggin bag. nyak. That's one of the 'cons'.. tsug being brought up a sissy. hehehe. and of course, the accent here. *sighs* .. that just can't be help lah. but nothing's final yet, until we buy a property here. (and if raymond gets a job in tokyo LOL)

we're going to batam on the 12th. just really wanted a change of scenery.. haven't been to batam and there's nothing to see in the city itself, but the resort we're going has some good reviews on TripAdvisor so I'm pretty excited. tsug also looooves swimming, so i hope we have great weather and that he enjoys himself.

that's it. see you guys. oh, and i've started playing Farmville and Farmtown on Facebook. I'm hooked at the moment! (i miss Paenaan hehe) gotta go and harvest some crops lol.

...progress report

at 13 months, tsugtsug was finally able to take his monumental first steps! and we have it in video! haven't been updating my blog mainly because of facebook, i feel it'll be redundant (and i was too lazy) but I realized, it's better to keep tsugtsug's milestones in one place.

best part was raymond and i have seen it together! he was on leave that day. the 3 of us were in tsug's playroom when tsug suddenly took 2 mini steps and fell down. Pangs and I looked at each other and then excitedly, urged Tsug to do it again. He was able to walk across the room! nowadays though, he prefers crawling to walking. he's very lazzyyy. probably because its just now that he could crawl freely, wasn't able to do that back in Pinas. I know he's kinda late, (learning to walk) but I'm not the least bit worried, I'm sure he'll be running in no time and then I would miss the time when he was easier to follow around.

another new thing, is his love of tofu. so friggin happy. because that means, japanese restaurants for us! yey! he also likes the steamed egg thingie (forgot the name) with the shitake mushrooms/crab sticks. makes life easier now when we dine out. we still can't eat at a leisurely pace but at least this time, we get to order dessert ehehe.

hmm. what else to tell about tsug.. he loves to eat cheerios too. i would just place some on his tray and he would feed himself while watching Hi5 (yeah, he still hasn't outgrown Hi5) he's still as makulit and bratty as ever and would cry whenever he doesn't get his way.. that's why i love the new playroom. its basically an empty room we placed rubber mats on so he can crawl freely without me stopping him every so often, pulling him away from the tv or the fan or whatever he's not supposed to be touching. In there he can touch everything, taste everything LOL.

snack time he usually has yogurt with some fruit, and his favorite biscuits. he still doesn't like any 'factory made' milk. that's why i try to feed him yogurt and cheese, at least he'll be able to get some extra calcium from those.

tsug snacking

yesterday, our weekly plantsadora brought her daughter and her two grandchildren, aged 8 and 2. tsug at first cried (but it was mainly because his nap was cut short) but after awhile, he was playing with Jessi, the 2 yo kid. Jessi was so cute, he would say 'momi, momi' when tsug would pull the toy away from him. hehe. I was so proud of Tsug, he wouldn't cry when Jessi pulled any toy from him, he would just get it back. LOL! I guess Pangs is right. I shouldn't be afraid of bullies once we enroll tsug in a playgroup. He would be the one bullying. nyahaha. Speaking of playgroups, am planning of putting tsug in a 2-hour a day one, just so he'll learn some social skills (since he doesn't have his cousins here), like sharing and other stuff. of course i don't really want him to turn out to be a bully or selfish or someone who bites other kids.

that's all the update for now. (gawd i'm lazy) hope you guys update your blogs too! (you know who i'm talking about!)

...tsugtsug's birthday kwento (super long post)

have the dvd of tsugtsug's pictures! thanks to my dad for sending it over here.

Photos were by Ging Lorenzo, and she did an awesome job. It takes her 2 weeks before she gives you the pictures, but believe me, its worth the wait. DVD came in a personalized cover, its so professional looking, i'm so happy I got her. She also has LightScribe (HP dvd burner) so tsugtsug's picture was 'etched' on the Disc itself. pretty cool. Now I have the difficult process of choosing which pictures to go to the album. Hope it doesn't take me too long to accomplish that.

The whole week it was raining a lot, very atypical considering it was still late April. I was starting to worry so Pangs and I went to Sta.Clara to offer some eggs and pray for a nice, sunny weather. It was even drizzling when we went to Sta. Clara, but I was optimistic that we would be blessed with sunshine. Guess what? We were! Omygosh I am now a devotee. LOL. The clouds would sometimes loom a little, but the rain never fell. (I also did a sun dance, btw, ala Sarah G. hehe)

Thank you Sta. Clara!

Morning of tsug's big day, he woke up around 7 and had his breakfast like any other day. By 9:30am, we were on our way to the resort and got there about 15 minutes later. (yup, its conveniently very near our house) Ging the photographer was already there, an excellent start of the day. (had to double check my watch because our meeting time was 10am, but nope, i wasn't late hehe) Also saw jacque of Partyboosters setting up the place and her staff trying to hang this humongous ball decor up on the wall. Had to laugh at the sight of that. The ball could've been a teeny bit better, I was thinking more flattened out (not sure if that's feasible) but I thought she did pretty well for a first-time effort on the giant beach ball.

Super value for money. I bought the mylar balloons from Bulkballoons.com and just handed it to her a couple of days before the party. She put up these beautiful swags which I looove, but I love them more because she doesn't charge you for them. which makes absolute sense, since these get returned anyways. I just don't get why other decorators charge you for them. One quoted me 6k just for swags! I guess they're pretty hard to put up, but just for the free swags, everyone should get Partyboosters hehe. Its just bonus that Jacque is easy to talk to and she even picked up the cake from Emily Uy for me. talk about customer service! I would definitely get her again for future events.

Tsug's cake was another value-for-money. Only 3k! The cake itself was a bit dry, but I didn't care. She was the only supplier who offers customized fondant cake this cheap! She also forgot to put tsugtsug's name (it's Gavin, in case you're wondering) on the cake but its no biggie since no one really noticed. (just me)

Another very cheap and great find were these cupcakes. Got them at 180/dozen at Cupcakesforless.multiply.com They were supposed to be beach balls too but they look more like beach umbrellas. Still awesome! Thanks Dhey.

One of my DIY projects were these sun visors. Wanted to buy at Orientaltrading.com but it'll be like 25 bucks each. I was hoping to find some in Divisoria, but wasn't successful. So decided to just make them. Bought Foam sheets at the scrapbooking corner in National Bookstore, traced and cut from a pattern and with help from ate chary, my mom and raymond ON the day itself (yeah, i know. but what's a party prep without a little cramming?) stapling garters at both ends, here's the end result. less than 6 bucks each! hehe.

gavin's first birthday4
Game prizes table. Made 'Mommy', 'Daddy', 'Lola', 'Lolo' visors too. Traced from a pattern and glued them on. Made it easier for the suppliers to recognize us too!

Anyway, my very eager and early cousins arrived just minutes behind me (excited? lol) and that got me to a great mood. I was worried about a dismal turnout, but now that my rowdy cousins are there, it doesn't matter if it was just them who came. That's how loud they can get hehe. It was a good thing I got 2 food carts, so our early guests could eat a little and won't pass out from hunger before lunch. These were also taken care of by Jacque of Partyboosters, and she got Yan-Ple (party supplier) for my Cheese Sticks and Nachos food carts.

gavin's first birthday6

Nachos were okay, but the cheese sticks weren't cheesy at all. My very pilyo cousins called it 'Cheese' sticks with matching 'in quotes' for the cheese. LOL. Food carts were 'in-theme' though, so bonus points for that.

After checking how the decorations were coming along, we went back to the room and tried to nurse a very excited tsugtsug. Gave up after a few minutes, so it was family portrait time. He is one happy kid:

Had hiccups at first with the venue, Bouganville Resort in Antipolo but they definitely made up for it on the event itself. They were closed on that day so it was as if we had reserved the whole place for tsugtsug's party. Ms. Joy, the Manager was heaven sent. She was there the whole day, looking over the food, managing the waiters, basically giving me a stress free party.

Our food was catered by MYC Catering, but they were just subcontracted by Bouganville so we had lower rates. (275/head, menu here) We booked for 120 people, but I think only about 90 came so the food was overflowing.

Adult Buffet on top, Kiddie buffet on the bottom. Ms. Joy the Manager in pink.

I was able to eat on the party itself but everything tasted great to me because that was my first meal of the day. When I got home and ate leftovers, I was able to assess the food more accurately. The carbonara was a bit bland and so was the Arroz Valenciana. The highlight was the Lengua with Mushroom sauce though. It tasted great, seasoned really well. I think I had that as my viand for at least 3 meals more. The rest were pretty okay, my expectations were met. Oh, I also loved the kiddie spaghetti. But I'm not sure if that's good cause I don't like sweet spaghettis so I'm not sure how the kids reacted. Maybe its wonder spaghetti where both adults and kids would like hehe.

Speaking of highlights, I got Host/Magician Alex Lagula who received the best compliment from my very budget conscious (read:stingy) Father. After the party, my dad asked me how much I paid for the Host/Magician. I said "9k" then I instinctively cringed a bit. He said "Sulit!" and my jaw dropped. HEHEHE. That just friggin made my day. A testament to a very successful party! Alex was on point on his act. The sound effects, his timing, everything! At first he started the party speaking in english and my first thought was 'uh-oh' and wondered if our guests could relate. But he switched to Taglish right immediately and really leveled himself to the crowd. He did everything. I didn't even instruct him to do anything. We just showed up like we were guests in our own party. Sulit talaga. There was balloon twisting and a couple of games before lunch time. One was for younger toddlers which I really appreciated because usually, the games are only enjoyed by kids aged 7 or older. After lunch, was the magic act which was awesome by itself but became even funnier because of my nephew Miguel who volunteered in one of his acts. Miguel's antics and side comments were so funny. He's in this 'rapper' mode and would say stuff like 'It's your fault, man' or 'I'm Miguel the Rapper, Yo!' that brought the house down. Napalaban si Alex sa kanya hehe.

After the fantastic program, was the swimming! Bouganville has a wonderful, huuuge pool with a jacuzzi and a kiddie pool. Actually, right after the program I just went around a bit to have some photos taken with my friends and family and I was looking for some of the kids but couldn't find them. I looked out to the pool saw some of the kids swimming already! Pangs thinks they dived in the pool without changing clothes haha.

Merienda was set-up and served on the Tents beside the pool. We had burgers, french fries, hotdog and Iced Tea. (ooh, I also loved the Iced tea. wonder what brand it was hehe) Also had 2 more food carts for merienda time from Ace Balloon, crepe and bbq wrap. Got a different food cart supplier cause of the different time they needed to be served. Both tasted fine. I opted for a Nestle Ice cream cart, instead of the usual dirty ice cream. It was really cheap (think I paid 3.3k for 160 assorted pieces) and I like the variety (Pinipig, drumstick, twin popsies, ice cream cups). The ice cream was gone super fast, but I was still able to eat 3 hehe. I remember reading about other mommies' experience on their kid's birthday parties about not being able to eat, but I was able to eat just fine. Maybe its our small number of guests, very manageable and since about 90% were our relatives and super close friends, they were pretty low-maintenance hehe.

...so pissed (updated)

we were at Yishun Northpoint mall yesterday when I decided to breastfeed tsugtsug at their Family Room at Level 2. It was a simple room with a diaper changing table, hot and cold water and 2 cubicles, each with a door for privacy for breastfeeding. Went inside one of the cubicles, locked the door and tried to nurse tsugtsug. Pangs left us so he could get his hair cut. About 5 minutes later, someone knocked on the door.. sounded like an old lady.. I said 'Yes?' then the old lady responded but it wasn't english so I asked again "I'm sorry?' then the old lady blabbed on again.. I still haven't learned a new language so I just ignored her. I figured she thought I was someone she knew or something. She left a few seconds after that. Another 5 minutes and someone knocked again! It felt like deja vu because I still said 'Yes' and 'I'm sorry?' and she still didn't speak in english. I was trying to whisper loudly at this point because tsugtsug was already half-dozing off. I was not going to open to some stranger when it was just me and tsugtsug in that family room.

The third time, it was already a guard with a walkie talkie who forced me to open the door because of his loud knocking was saying "Hello? Hello?". To say i was extremely pissed at this point is an understatement. I was fuming! Here I was, half-naked, trying to nurse my baby to sleep and I've been interrupted 3 times! So I opened the door with tsugtsug still latched and sucking at my breast and asked "What the F*CK???" and this guard who looked too young to be one looked down on us, muttered 'Oh' and then left.

WTF again!? not even an apology!? arrrrrgh. I was trying to stay calm for tsug then Pangs got in minutes later. I told him the story so he was asking me if I want to complain to the mall management. I agreed. I wanted to know what all the racket was about. When we went down to Level 1, I saw the boy guard but I wasn't 100% sure if it was him so I asked calmly "Excuse me, where you the one who knocked at the breastfeeding station just now?" I had to repeat myself because he was mumbling and acting dumb and was incoherent. (thinking back, I guess he was pretty nervous already) He denied it at first (the nerve!) so I just said 'Well, there was a guard who knocked blah blah blah' and told the story again and asked what's the reason behind it. He said there were students who use the cubicle to smoke or whatever so he was just doing his job. Pangs took over this time and was asking 'So you just keep on knocking on the breastfeeding station door every time its closed? What if there's a baby sleeping, just like our case?' and he just said 'It is management's rule and I'm just doing my job' (so it's you! you little idiot.) so at this point Pangs was like 'then let's talk to your manager' and that little idiot turned away from us! LOL. he had the gall to leave us right then and there. (ano yun, walkout?) My husband rushed after him (the guard walked OUT of the mall) so they were talking just outside the entrance. I couldn't hear them but they were still arguing then the guard walked away from Pangs again. I shouted at Pangs to stop following him and to calm down. He said the stupid boy muttered something like 'I know you're a FILIPINO' as if that should mean something. Huh? so friggin what?

I was talking to pangs trying to calm him down and I said something like let's just talk to the management or customer service to complain about that stupid boy guard. I didn't want him near that kid for fear he might punch that dumb look off that kid's face. So we filed the report at customer service with a promise that they'll give us a call. Still haven't heard from them, but Pangs said he'll give them a week to respond.

Thinking back, if students do use the breastfeeding station for their horny reasons, knocking on the door everytime it's closed is NOT the solution. If they're worried then have someone guard the friggin family room. smoking is something you can smell in a little airconditioned room so that's easy enough to detect. Or common sense would dictate for you to just WAIT. Whoever it is inside would have to leave at some point! I've used numerous breastfeeding stations in Singapore malls and this is the first time I've had this problem. And a simple apology from that idiotic guard could have appeased my nerves! I think he's too young to be a guard. An adult guard would've handled it completely different. One would just apologize for the mistake and not make lame excuses. And he would NOT turn away in the middle of a conversation!

Breastfeeding is hard enough as it is and something that was supposed to be a private, calm moment between you and your baby was messed up by an idiot who wasn't even mature enough to handle a mistake he has made.

***UPDATE***
Raymond got a call the following Monday, just asking for the detailed story with a promise that they'll look into it. 2 days after, he got a call again. They were trying to locate the guard so he could apologize to us but they were unsuccessful. He was already fired a couple of days after the incident (so tuesday, probably). Good friggin riddance. with regards to the knocking issue, they told Raymond they will no longer do that and would only investigate for very obvious problems (like smoking in the room).

...back

..here in sg. got here last monday and so far, so good. already have a routine for tsug.. he has started waking up around 7:30 am (as i predicted, harhar), a relief from his usual 6/6:30am .. sun rises here much later than in Manila...

i've prepared and frozen his food for this week.. chicken soup for lunch, and broccoli/leek/carrots in white sauce for dinner.. the latter was not that successful, but when i added some chicken broth, it was much more well-received hehe.. (think it was too gooey for him the first time) .. as soon as he naps, i put the frozen cubes in the baby food warmer, tidy up a bit, wash our dishes then i get to use the computer after! yey! mostly i've been watching some missed tv shows but now i felt the urge to blog, because i've been feeling very productive lately and i want to show off my domestic accomplishments haha. i've decided to just wash dishes as soon as we use them or clean up right after a meal, i find it's easier this way.

since turning 1, i have introduced some new food in his diet.. cheerios for breakfast and yogurt with some plums and pears i've simmered and chopped.. he surprisingly loves the yogurt.. the cheerios is something he's getting used to. he's still not very good with chewing and swallowing lumpy food, but every article in the net says just keep trying so that's what i'm doing. (/me sing ala Yo Gabba Gabba.. keep trying, keep trying.. don't give up.. don't give up) he also likes cheese.. so maybe i'll give him yogurt with cheese with his fave cinnamon graham biscuits later.

i am definitely more mentally prepared this time around.. our set up before was i just concentrate on tsug and let Pangs do all the household stuff.. now i want to do my part and i think i'm getting the hang of it. it's also a huuuge deal that tsug sleeps on the bed now.. he used to just sleep on my chest, hence, the 'all i do is take care of tsug' attitude.. now i have time to clean up and actually do stuff i enjoy doing, like blogging! double yey!

i haven't made tsugtsug's birthday kwento yet.. still waiting for the photographer's pictures.. but the bottom line is.. it was so much fun!!! we had such a blast and i could see every kid there had a great time.. tsug was also well behaved and wasn't too cranky considering it was almost a whole day event. there was lots of food (TG! haha) and parents had to yank their kiddos to get outta of the pool..

anyway, more birthday kwento later.. here's a sneak peek: (grabbed from my balloon decorator, partyboosters)

...weddings

today i'm going to talk about weddings... mine and.. my sister's! yup, Ate Chary has met her match and will tie the knot! They (as in she and JR, her fiancé) were at first decided on a February 2010 wedding, but because of my awesome convincing powers, they moved it to December 2009!woohoo! December weddings are harder to pull off because it's the wedding month of all months.. Most churches in the city are already booked so the solution is to go to our hometown, Antipolo! I've pencil booked 'The Mango Farm' and inquired on a prospective parish church inside Filinvest. (i actually pencil booked the Mango Farm before I tried to convince Ate Chary to do a December wedding.. I needed to know if it was feasible, of course!) I've also contacted a few wedding suppliers and found an excellent photographer who is available on the date and has a reasonable rate.. Jason Arquiza of RedefineWeddings. if JR approves, will book him ASAP! hehe.

Ate's still not sure about the colors.. though she is leaning towards a pink/brown wedding (i love pink and brown too! my favorite w@wie weddings were these colors!) but i have found so much interesting color combinations in the net, everything looks beautiful!

here are a few of my favorites:

tiffany blue and poppy (or aqua blue/red for guys hehe)
mood boardsmood boards

turquoise, pink and gold
mood boards

and of course, the pink and brown
mood boardsmood boards

i'm so excited! i love weddings!

and speaking of weddings, i have finally finished our wedding album.. its 3 years late so i'm really happy to have overcome my laziness and actually sat down in front of a computer and devoted time to do it. (advise to B2Bs.. have your photographer do the wedding album! cause it'll end up like ours.. 3 years in the making!) its nothing fancy, i completed it in under a week. i wanted it to be simple and classic, something that ten years from now, i would still like. I got the brushes from DeviantArt (awesome site!) and some scrapbook elements from ShabbyPrincess.

i'm just really glad to have accomplished something while i'm here sa Pinas.. our aging PC was really straining and crawling under Photoshop Elements, but it survived and i'm excited to see it get printed.

...tv habits

tsugtsug is in this phase in his life where its super difficult to feed him! he has to be constantly entertained.. he has to have something interesting to hold (a cup, a plastic cover, a cellphone, a wii controller, anything!) and something to watch on TV..

he usually wakes up around 7:30ish so when i feed him his breakfast, he does it while watching Hi5 and Yo Gabba Gabba on Nick Jr.. he loves these shows! i have figured out what he likes.. he likes real mascots/people (no cartoons for him) plus a lot of singing and dancing! he sits in his high chair with something in his hand, his eyes transfixed on the tv, (with the occassional clapping and waving his arms in the air) and i can stuff him with cereal and fruit with zero fussiness. he's a slow eater so he needs an hour to finish his meal. problem is, when he wakes up a little bit late than usual, say around 8.. after Yo Gabba is finished and Go Diego Go starts, he starts throwing his toys and refuses to be fed! arrrrgh! He'll listen to the intro Go Diego theme but once Diego says "Ola I'm Diego" all hell breaks loose. whatever toy you give him, he'll just throw it back and then he tries to get the spoon from you and throw it too!

i have started to dread his meal time, but now i've found the secret. hihihi. its really Hi5 and Yo Gabba GAbba! bwahahah. I have finished downloading YGG's season 1 and he can continue watching it even if he wakes up at 9am! His lolo has also bought him Hi5 Dvds (in quiapo, lol) so its Hi5 for dinner. 'Eat Bulaga' during lunch time keeps him entertained. He likes to "taktak" and probably likes the sex bomb dancers too LOL! I'll probably go ahead and buy the 150bucks original Hi5 and Barney DVDs (yeah i know its super cheap, but i can't help it. 30 bucks is cheaper LOL) so i can bring them to SG once we go back. (yeah, he likes barney too)

best thing about Yo Gabba Gabba.. i like them too! hahaha! the songs are cool and there are bands/actors who guest star in them. they do the "Dancey Dance time" and the "super music friendship show"..(some bands i know were The Tingtings, Hot Hot Heat and The Shins) one episode i really liked was when Jack Black guested.. he is so friggin hilarious. He dancey danced the 'saturday night live' dance (you know, the point your finger up and down then roll your hands) and dressed as DJ Lance ("i'm surprised it fits!" hahaha! DJ lance is this super skinny person with a spandex orange costume) The songs are really catered to preschoolers, and they teach very practical stuff! like "Don't bite your friends!" (LOL!) and for picky eaters "Try it! You'll like it!".. my fave song is Broby's 'Party in your tummy'.. it's Broby's meal time so he eats chicken, cheese and juice then goes about singing "There's a party in my tummy, so yummy, so yummy!" .. then the carrots and beans started crying 'cause they've been left in the plate and they say "we want to join the party in your tummy" BWAHAHA. I've read this in my egroup, one particular mom said his son told him to hurry up and feed him his carrots 'cause they're already crying.. OHA, pretty awesome. will definitely let tsugtsug watch this til he learns to speak LOL. Anthony Bourdain actually gives a shout out to YGG, often quoting 'party in my tummy' on his show, 'No Reservations'. i knew from the start that imposing a 'No TV' rule would be impossible in our home for tsug(especially for me! lol) but hopefully he'll turn out to love tv AND books too.. just like his mommy mwahhaha!
Yo Gabba Gabba!!! they look weird but tsugtsug doesn't mind at all!

speaking of Bourdain, he sometimes guests as a judge in Top Chef. I just recently watched Top Chef season 5 and absolutely hated the winner. arrrrghghg. I was so frustrated, I had to google the runner up and when there were so few about him on the net, I searched him in facebook then added him as my 'friend'. Guess what? He added me back BWAHAHAH! SUPER COOL! its like we're close or something hahaha! (iba na ito) More reasons to like facebook!

anyway, back to tsugtsug.. just realized i've got 3 weekends left before his party. I still have some stuff to do, but at least I have already sent out the invites to our relatives.. all's that left are our friends. better meet em up after holy week.

which reminds me... congrats TP! i'm so happy for you and jeff. meh kalaro na si tsugtsug yahooooeyy!

bye guys!

...tsugtsug's balloons are here

yeyyyyyyyyy thanks to Ate Ging and Chad for fedex-ing the mylar balloons I ordered. Plus a Coke T-shirt (coke smile tsugtsug! hehe), a 'Fun to be 1' candle, a prince hat and a totally awesome musical Master Yoda card. (tsugtsug said "Eh? eh?" upon opening the card)

tsugtsug's loot is here!tsugtsug's loot is here!
beach ball mylar and the swimming girl.. look how big it is beside my slippers!

tsugtsug's loot is here!tsugtsug's loot is here!
i also have a diver mylar (bottom right) and 2 sun mylars!

tsugtsug's loot is here!tsugtsug's loot is here!

couldn't get a decent shot 'cause he's at this stage where he wants to hold the camera everytime he sees it. the prince hat doesn't fit him, (tsug's head is too big. lol) but the garter helps it to stay put. Yoda card plays the star wars theme once opened. Thanks Ate and Chad again!

i was refusing to make a birthday preps list thinking that i could handle everything on my mind, but i have finally conceded and made one today. (list was getting longer!)

1. deposit to partyboosters
2. ask about styro surfboards <--ooops, haven't mentioned this to pangs yet. (ok, pangs? now you know LOL)
3. finalize cake details
4. finalize invite layout <--- very minimal tweaking to be done, but otherwise finished
5. have invites printed
6. book nestle cart
7. book manong taho
8. finalize food carts
9. make tarp layout (was thinking of putting one near the swimming pool)

not too bad eh? should be able to do all these in 2 weeks. (ha! positive thinking)

anyway, have been receiving bad news this past week.. my aunt's sick and so was raymond's lolo..(oh, i mean our lolo)..'was' because i'm not sure if he's still in the hospital..ooh, which reminds me, haven't asked Akel how he is.. (arrgh, i'm a bad 'apo') i'm still in denial regarding my aunt's sickness.. its actually pretty bad, but i just can't let myself think about it too much, its depressing. then raymond's friend (one who's living with him in SG) who was just recently hired will be losing his job! every company is definitely cutting back on expenses. its just cruel to hire new people, make them leave their country and families then let them go within a couple of months. *sighs*

on a lighter note, we attended my cousin's wedding last Saturday. It was a hot afternoon, but tsug was relatively well behaved except during dinner time when it was dark and noisy and he didn't want to eat his food. We had fun on the photo booth, though! will definitely persuade ate chary to get one when she gets married. hehehe. it was very addicting and you get instant gratification seeing your photos in print just 20 seconds later. heck, i'll get one for tsugtsug if we had the budget for it haha! i'm sure my camera hungry cousins will have a blast with it.

that's it for now. bye guys! have a holy, holy week!
